About the Show

The Closet Geek Show is a weekly produced music podcast hosted by Brent Morris. The show blends a unique mix of what is best described as adrenal music. Every week you can enjoy a mix of trance, drum and bass, rock, metal and mashups that will make you want to dance, mosh or both at once.

When the music stops you’ll get a chance to catch your breath while Brent gives a “geek talk” about something obscure and interesting researched in the dark recesses of the web. Every week showcases a cool new podcast to listen to and any great websites Brent’s seen in the past week.

Show History

The show was started in August 2005 by Brent Morris initially as an outlet for Brent’s knowledge of random geeky topics. However, as the show grew the focus shifted more to the great independent music played on the show.

In September 2005, Brent was invited by Boots n Remixes, a popular forum for the bootleg/mashup scene to select their Boot of the Week feature. The Boot of the Week is played every week on the Closet Geek Show.

In November 2005, For The Masses Podcasting invited The Closet Geek Show into it’s network. FtM is a network of music podcasts playing independent music. Many of the shows produced within the network are hosted by the musicians themselves.

In December 2005, The Closet Geek Show was invited to be a member of The 138 Podcast Badass podcasting collective, home to the best and most creative podcasts on the web.
