"Leaked" Saul Williams track "Break"

October 28, 2007 – 3:44 pm

So there’s this hip-hop artist called Saul Williams and he has this new album coming out. Now I’ve never heard this guy before because I’m an uncultured troglodyte, but people who’s opinion I respect tell me this is a big deal. Then I heard that Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails fame was the producer on this new album, and that this would be a free downloadable album in addition to being available in stores eventually.

Today I saw on reddit that the pair had "leaked" a track from the album on The Pirate Bay. I can’t wait for this free music thing to just be the norm, look at how successful it’s been for indie music since the web became mainstream.

  3. Saul Williams is actually fantastic (though largely unknown) artist. His new DRM-free album is good, but he has two previous outings that are great.
